Kicking it off from the previous entry...After attending DXCLA & having the opportunity to visit Project Blitz, we headed back to the Bay Area. I got back home around 8 AM and probably had only an hour of sleep before getting ready for DXCSF. This DXCSF was a different one this time around. The amount of great vibes and people who attending this event, was really good. It's been a while since a real good turn out for DXCSF. I've been to the very first DXCSF back in 2006 and I can see how much it has changed, both the good and the bad.
Once again, I was displaying my sneaker collection with Ace & Mario who came down from LA for the event. I decided to put some vintage Nike's to switch it up compared to the previous DXCSF were it would be mainly original Jordan's. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but I ended up buying 1999 White & Columbia XIV Lows & 2003 Cobalt IE XI Lows for Mindy. By my surprise, this guy (Sorry I forgot your name, I'm not too good with names) came up to me asking if I wanted to buy his 2001 Columbia XI's with the box. The only issue was the midsole was completely separated from the uppers. Everything else was still good.
I told him thanks but I'll pass since I have a pair already. He refused and said, no buy them from for $20. I quickly looked at him and said $20!? But why $20? I started to look even closely at the shoe thinking something was wrong but nothing was. He was a supporter of my photography work for the longest time and had his dad with him and told him I was the guy. It was really dope and I ended up buying the 2001 Columbia XI's. Thanks again dude.
The change up of the venue was nice but hot. Although it got crowded at times, it's always nice seeing familiar faces and catching up with people who you haven't seen in a while is always nice. Overall this DXCSF was really good. See you at the next DXCSF!
